General Information on the State of Quintana Roo:




Quintana Roo is located on the east coast of Mexico's Yucatan peninsula.  It is bordered by the States of Yucatan and Campeche to the west and by the Country of Belize to the south.  Quintana Roo's main industry is tourism.

Natural beauties abound in Quintana Roo, from the magnificent coral reefs to the flowering jungle.  Its strong Mayan heritage is visible in the spectacular Mayan ruins, which are open to visitors.  Long strands of powdered limestone beaches are washed by the brilliant shades of blue, turquoise and green waters of the Caribbean.
 
 

General Information on Akumal:




Akumal is located 100km (62 miles) south of the Cancun International Airport. The name means "Place of the Turtles" in Mayan. Akumal became an exclusive resort for Scuba Divers in the 1950ís and is now open and available to everyone.

Akumal Bay hosts hotels, great restaurants, 2 dive shops and a beautiful sandy beach. Its gentle slope and usually calm waters make it ideal for swimming.

North of Akumal Bay is Half Moon Bay. It is populated by private homes, condominiums and more recommended restaurants and is a quieter bay where relaxation comes easily. The reef at the opening of Half Moon Bay offers excellent snorkeling, especially near the northern point, where the coral extends almost to shore. The southern part of Half Moon Bay has a sandier beach.

Beyond Half Moon Bay is the snorkeling lagoon of Yal-ku. There, fresh water mixes with the sea and creates an ideal hatchery for fish. There is an admission fee to enter Yal-ku (5 USD or 50 Pesos) and Sun Block is not allowed, for the preservation of the habitat.

Many attractions are located nearby Akumal. The Mayan ruins at Tulum are 23km south of Akumal. The ruins at Coba are inland from Tulum. Xel-ha, 15km south, offers a great "first-time" snorkeling experience because of its calm, shallow waters and easy sea entrance. Puerto Adventuras, 10km north, is a Marina community with an 18 hole golf course and excellent restaurants. Playa Del Carmen, 35km north, is the major business center for the region. It is a great place to spend a day, offering a wonderful beach and seemingly endless shopping opportunities. In addition to these spots, virtually every road to the east of Highway 307 unveils another stunning beach or snorkeling spot.
 
 

La Iguana Condominiums:



Located at the Northern-most point of Half Moon Bay, La Iguana Condominiums offer panoramic views of the Bay, the Reef and the Caribbean beyond, thanks to its south facing wall of floor-to-ceiling glass. La Iguana is one of the few 4 story buildings in Akumal. The water in Half Moon Bay is so clear that Barracuda, Parrotfish and Stingrays can sometimes be spotted from the fourth floor Penthouse.

Full-time management personnel are on the grounds to assist the guests and maintain the property. Daily maid service is standard. La Iguana Condominiums offer a taste of Mexico with all the comforts of home (yes, even TV & VCR). Telephone, fax and email services are available (separate fees may apply).

Over 37í (11.3 meters) of 4th floor Oceanfront floor-to-ceiling windows, offering unobstructed and unsurpassable views of Half Moon Bay and the Caribbean. 1585 Square Feet (147.32 Square meters) of total space. Cooled by Ocean breezes and ceiling fans. Stair access only, no elevator.

Small balcony off one bedroom, facing the courtyard, with views of Yalku Lagoon and the Caribbean shoreline to the north.

Comfortably accommodates 6 adults:  3 bedrooms with King size poster beds and 3 private bathrooms with showers

Fully equipped Kitchen with Refrigerator, Stove, Microwave Oven, Toaster, Coffee maker, dishes and utensils

Daily Maid service and Purified Bottled Water dispenser provided for drinking and cooking

Dining room with table and 8 chairs

Living room with 2 sofas, 1 love seat, 1 table and 4 chairs
